Hanifa Farsafi's Public Quest: Using Grok A.I to Find a Partner

 Human rights activist Hanifa Farsafi has engaged the artificial intelligence chatbot Grok in a public quest to find a suitable partner for marriage, leveraging the platform of her X (formerly Twitter) account.

Her unique approach, which unfolded over several posts, sought Grok's algorithmic matchmaking capabilities based on her extensive list of followers.

On July 18, 2025, Farsafi, known for her advocacy work, initiated the conversation by addressing the AI directly.

She posted, "Okay, let's try this 😂 Hey, @grok, kindly match me with a God-fearing, genuine, loving, loyal, and kind man who is ready to fall in love, based on my followers who fit the description".In a subsequent post on the same day, Farsafi made a more specific, albeit playful, request, directly naming a prominent figure: "Hey @grok match me up with @StephenCurry30".

Stephen Curry is a globally recognized American professional basketball player, known for his achievements in the National Basketball Association (NBA). 

Grok, an AI chatbot developed by xAI, the company founded by Elon Musk, responded to Farsafi's initial criteria with a specific suggestion. The AI analyzed her mutual followers and recommended fellow human rights defender, Hussein Khalid of Vocal Africa.

Grok's assessment of the recommended individual highlighted his apparent alignment with Farsafi's stated preferences.

"Based on your mutual followers, @husskhalid stands out: a human rights lawyer who frequently invokes God and Alhamdulillah in posts, showing faith. His work empowering communities reflects genuineness, kindness, and loyalty. As for love-ready? His principled life suggests openness. Shoot your shot! 😉" Grok's response read.This recommendation for a fellow human rights lawyer seemingly matched the criteria of faith, kindness, loyalty, and readiness for a relationship that Farsafi had outlined.

This public foray into AI-assisted matchmaking follows Farsafi's earlier declaration regarding her marital status. Just days prior, on July 13, Farsafi had posted on her X account, stating, "This is my last year without a husband by fire by force. Mwaka wa kufosi!"

This previous statement had already drawn attention from other users, including one who humorously referenced her past intentions, setting the stage for her subsequent engagement with Grok.
